Three 4'by 6' canvases depicting important days in Michigan history from the new millennium. An explosion of color, celebrating and inspired by presidents, leaders and the best!
The left panel commemorates President Obama's commencement address to the University of Michigan Class of 2010 at Michigan Stadium on May 1, 2010. The color ladder represents a theme from his remarks where Obama urged all to look at the issues facing our country over a full spectrum of views to promote understanding.
The center panel commemorates Coach Lloyd Carr, the retired football coach of U of M. The field of maize represents the tradition of "Maize Out" where students are encouraged to wear maize-colored shirts to the home football games, the blue tear a farewell.
The right panel commemorates Mary Sue Coleman, the first woman president of the U of M, her tenure beginning in 2002. The maize and blue perimeter envelops a bright spectrum of color, emblematic of President Coleman's leadership.
